The NTCA Tom Ade Ceramic Tile Scholarship was established to provide educational opportunities for children or grandchildren of NTCA contractor members.
Scholarship Selection Criteria:
- Applicants must be the child or grandchild of an NTCA contractor member or their employee and be in good standing with the association.
- 2025 applications must be received by February 15, 2025.
- Applicants must submit the following:
- Scholarship application form (A printable version is available)
- An essay or video detailing their career goals and what they will do with the scholarship funds.
- A letter of recommendation from an individual not in the applicant’s immediate family
Scholarship winners will be recognized at a reception during Coverings 2025. The scholarship will encompass a contribution to the educational institution of choice for the applicant. In addition, NTCA will cover travel and registration costs to attend Coverings (link to Coverings). It is important to notate the event date, as it is mandatory for the recipient to be present at the reception. If the scholarship winner is not able to attend, an alternate recipient will be named.
Funds are made possible through the generous donations of the NTCA and its members and sponsors. Total donations will determine the number of scholarship recipients each year. Scholarship funds, which will be allocated to the school or institution named in the application (will not be allocated to the individual), may be used for college, apprenticeship, vocational school, technical school, etc.
The scholarship is a one-time award, and the funds can be distributed all at once or spread out over an academic year.
Applications will be reviewed by a committee comprised of the NTCA Board of Directors and members of the NTCA staff.
The scholarship is the namesake of Tom Ade, a former NTCA regional director and a previous recipient of the NTCA Ring of Honor and NTCA Tile Person of the Year Awards. It was through his generosity and support that this scholarship was launched.
