NTCA Technical Committee
NTCA Technical Committee

The NTCA Technical Committee examines the ever-changing challenges in the field relating to the installation of tile and stone products, and how they apply to ANSI standards and TCNA methods. The result is the annual NTCA Reference Manual.

This living publication is under continual updating and revision by this select group of some of the industry’s top technical minds. Their years of experience are used to address and provide solutions to the evolving challenges and considerations in tile installation today.

Comprised of industry representatives from the contracting, consulting, manufacturing, distribution, associations, and allied fields, subcommittees tackle recurring and evolving issues brought forth by committee members, installer NTCA members, and others in a non-proprietary approach to providing answers that benefit the industry as a whole.

As subcommittees are formed, the representation is wide, ensuring that the many perspectives of a given issue are not only examined and addressed, but are shared with other industry sectors in the spirit of open and solution-minded problem solving. After research, teamwork, debate and compromise, the subcommittee’s conclusions may take the form of a white paper, a problem-prevention-cure table, or even an informational letter. The vetting process progresses as the work product is taken to the entire committee, for additional rounds of scrutiny, and ultimately a vote on inclusion in the NTCA Reference Manual.

While subcommittees work year round, the NTCA Technical Committee meets as a whole twice a year at Coverings and Total Solutions Plus industry conferences. NTCA members are welcome to attend as observers and may volunteer for subcommittee involvement.
