Course Description:
There’s often a disconnect between what designers and consumers want, and what
installers can properly implement. And how can manufacturers and distributors
balance the tile trends that buyers desire, with the installation that contractors can
actually achieve? Celebrity Designer Jennifer Farrell and NTCA Training Director
Mark Heinlein dive into this lively conversation. Jennifer shares emerging design
trends that will drive the tile market in 2024 and beyond; Mark will share the real-life
techniques to make those design dreams a beautifully installed reality. A discussion
packed with key takeaways that every industry pro needs to know.

Learning Objectives:
1. At the end of this program, attendees will know understand the emerging trends in
tile design.
2. At the end of this program, attendees will understand the types of tile and
manufacturing specifications for tile that meets ANSI A137.1. They will also
understand the three types of pressed floor porcelain tile.
3. At the end of this program, attendees will understand the proper installation
methods required for ANSI A137.1 tile including substrate prep for flatness,
workmanship, cutting, fitting, and grout joint size, and lippage.
4. At the end of this program, attendees have learned about movement joints
including why they are required and where and why they must follow ANSI A108 and
TCNA Handbook method for movement joints.
5. At the end of this program, attendees will know how to use the TCNA Handbook
for the proper installation of tile and the proper way to review finished tile
installations.
