Why Become an NTCA
Five-Star Contractor?

  • Many manufacturers and distributors recommend Five-Star Contractors in project specifications. Industry standards and construction specification programs also reference Five Star Contractors in their quality assurance recommendations.
  • Volume discounts are offered by several NTCA associate members who support the integrity and professionalism of contractors who have been approved in the Five-Star Program. Special product vouchers are provided annually to offset the investment the contractor makes to maintain their status on an annual basis.
  • Contractors who wish to separate their business from the competition use the Five-Star Program in project bids and qualifications. Contractors currently enrolled in the program specialize in both residential and commercial installations.
  • Contractors wishing to do work in multiple states or on national accounts will have a unique opportunity if they are accepted into the Five-Star Program, as many manufacturers look to partner with them on projects such as hotels, restaurants, convenience stores, retail stores, etc.
  • NTCA management offers Five-Star Contractors additional support through regional technical and business training, an annual focused meeting of Five-Star Peers, and project specifications recognizing the quality of the program.

What you Need To Know About

Becoming an NTCA Five-Star Contractor:

  • Contracting businesses looking to become Five-Star Contractors must designate if they wish to be a part of the national account program or if they want to use this recognition in their local market.
  • Prior to submitting an application, the contractor must be a member in good standing in the NTCA for the past three years and must have at least ten percent of their installers pass the Certified Tile Installer test administered by the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation.
  • The NTCA offers numerous opportunities for its members to get involved in the association. It is expected that Five-Star Contractors who are approved into the program will participate in these events.  These include regional and national education programs, trade show, annual meetings, management conferences and more.
