Custom install or stick and fly install

Posted By SB Custom Tile, Saturday, October 3, 2015

What's your ideal working situation?  Creating a custom floor, shower, or just setting a large area?   If money wasn't an issue, I would rather install a custom shower then any other install.

Personally, I look forward to the jobs that require custom mud work. I'm not that fast at it, but I love the challenge of doing something not most can do. On the other hand, I also love looking out over a sea of concrete and thinking about the process we will use to get it from nothing to something. I feel like Napoleon planning a battle. :)

I'll take the custom showers. It's a rewarding feeling when the other tradesmen continually check your progress to see what you are creating and the finished project has that wow factor. Which is better than being known as the guy that spent all day in the shower and came out dirtier than he went in:)

I totally agree. I'm a custom person. I love the reaction of people when I exceed their expectations. I would rather take a week on a shower install, then set 2,000sqft. I love getting the oh my god reaction. I love my job, how many people get such satisfaction from their job? I know I do
